Defender from Kolomyia: "When you have a family, you know what you have to come back to after the front."
Bogdana Trachuk, also known as "Sovenya," has been serving in the 3 Battalion since 2022. She previously worked in the beauty industry. She was the deputy commander for psychological support, and now she is raising a son and is a military spouse. The defender spoke about the importance of creating a family during wartime, about supporting comrades, and about what gives her the strength to persevere.
Bogdana Trachuk, known as "Sovenya," left her business in Kolomyia in 2022 after the start of the full-scale invasion and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Initially, she volunteered in her hometown, and later became a deputy commander for psychological support in 3 OSHB.
According to Bohdana, the service taught her resilience and discipline, while motherhood revealed her gentleness and femininity. Military personnel most often turned to her for help due to fear, emotional exhaustion, and a loss of control over their lives. She notes that female soldiers find it easier to open up, as they do not judge strength or weakness, but simply understand human emotions.
The defender emphasizes that creating a family during wartime has great significance, as a person knows what they are fighting for. Bohdana believes that birth rates should be increased, despite the war. She shared that her fellow soldiers strongly support each other, and this is felt both during difficult times and joyful moments. According to her, support from the unit and command is also very important.
Bogdana Trachuk emphasizes that physical fitness is extremely important on the front lines, and she is trying to maintain her fitness so that she can return to service. She also noted that the brigade has a gym where soldiers can train and recover.
