Vivat is closing its bookstores due to prolonged air raid alerts.

The Vivat publishing house is forced to close part of its bookstores due to frequent and prolonged air raid alerts, which lead to significant disruptions in operations. The company does not rule out the possibility of closing more stores in 2027.

The Ukrainian publishing house Vivat is reviewing the operations of its network of bookstores due to prolonged air raid alerts. Some stores have already closed, and the company does not rule out further closures in 2027.

Specifically, the Vivat bookstore in the "Magellan" shopping center in Kyiv recently closed. According to Yulia Orlova, the general director and co-owner of Vivat, the shopping center administration offered the publishing house a reduction in rent, but this did not help, as the store was losing up to two hours of operation each day due to air raid alerts.

The situation in Dnipro and Kharkiv is even more challenging: bookstore chains are closed for approximately five hours each day due to air raid alerts, losing about 35 working hours per week. Similar difficulties are also occurring in other cities. At the same time, the costs of maintaining bookstores remain unchanged.

Due to this, Vivat is changing the way its network operates: individual stores are relocating, some locations are being combined, and expenses are being reviewed. The company is looking for ways to adapt the operation of bookstores to the conditions in which prolonged air raid alerts directly affect their business.
