Three power plants in Kyiv have been shut down after Russian attacks
As a result of Russian attacks, the production of electricity at TETS-5, TETS-6 and Darnitcka TETS has been stopped. This means that Kyiv is now much more dependent on electricity supplies from other regions of Ukraine. Ensuring the city with electricity is becoming more difficult due to regular strikes on substations and power grids.
As a result of Russian attacks, the production of electricity at three Kyiv TETS has been stopped: TETS-5, TETS-6 and Darnitcka TETS.
Due to damage to the generation, Kyiv has become much more dependent on receiving electricity from other regions through the unified energy system. For electricity to be delivered to the city, functional substations and power grids are needed, which are also regularly targeted by Russian attacks, making supply more difficult.
People's deputy Oleksiy Kucherenko explained that the shutdown of electricity generation at Kyiv TETS does not mean automatic shutdown of heat production. According to him, the stations were prepared for operation in heat supply mode.
