In Kyiv, the installation of additional heat generation facilities is ongoing to strengthen the city's heat supply during the heating season. A total of more than 1,5 GW of additional heat generation is planned, including the installation of backup boilers.

Микола Калашник, Minister of Recovery, Infrastructure, and Transport, inspected the progress of construction on protecting critical infrastructure facilities and backup power plants in the capital. According to him, the work is expected to be completed within approximately two months, with equipment installation planned for completion by the end of December on some of the facilities.

The works are commissioned by the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in the Kyiv region and the Kyiv City State Administration. Issues that depend on the ministry and the Restoration Agency are resolved jointly with the city and the gas distribution organization. At the sites, efforts are being made to accelerate the work, including through alternative connection points to gas networks, parallel execution of construction and gas work, strengthening of teams, and working in multiple shifts.

Mykola Kalashnyk also inspected the facility, which has transitioned from state to municipal ownership and is expected to provide additional energy to a part of Kyiv in the near future. The minister emphasized that protecting infrastructure and creating backup power sources are key components of Kyiv's resilience plan, and these measures are needed for the capital now.
