According to law enforcement, the conflict arose because one of the young men had grabbed a familiar suspect the day before, who works in a store. When the man made a remark, the young men started fighting and used a gas canister. In response, the Kyiv resident drew a traumatic pistol and fired several shots in the direction of the attackers.
As a result of the shooting, a 23-year-old victim sustained injuries to the chest and abdomen, from which he died at the scene. His companion sustained minor bodily harm. The shooter's actions are being qualified as intentional murder, for which he faces up to 15 years in prison.
