In Kyiv, approximately three thousand residents have preliminarily agreed to temporary relocation in case of need. A total of approximately 200 thousand Kyiv residents may belong to vulnerable categories who may need assistance in winter.

In Kyiv, approximately three thousand residents have preliminarily agreed to temporary relocation in case of need, according to Deputy Head of the Kyiv City Administration, Marina Khonda. According to her, most Kyiv residents do not want to move, especially elderly and single individuals.

A total of approximately 200 thousand Kyiv residents may belong to vulnerable categories, such as elderly and single individuals, people with disabilities, and families with many children. Those who refuse to relocate will attempt to provide assistance at home, such as bringing food or providing medical care.

According to Marina Khonda, the decision on relocation may change. Last winter, there were cases where people who initially refused to move later requested assistance due to the cold in their apartments.

In the event of a lack of heat in an apartment for 48 hours, residents will be offered to relocate to places located as close as possible to their usual environment. These facilities should be energy-independent. As examples, the official cited geriatric homes and rehabilitation centers, as well as agreements with Kyiv hospitals to provide temporary accommodation.
