The city administration wants to build a "cultural space" instead of a square on Andriyivsky Uzviz.
The Department of Cultural Heritage of the Kyiv City Administration, led by Marina Solovyova, is promoting the idea of a new "cultural space" on Andriyivsky Uzviz, on the site of an existing park, for which the city has invested 300 thousand hryvnias. Activists believe that this could be the entrance to a future hotel, and the owner is using administrative resources to develop the area.
The Kyiv City Council plans to build a new "cultural space" on Andriyivsky Uzviz, replacing the existing park. This was announced by the organization "Heritage".
The city had previously invested 300 thousand hryvnias in the development of this green space. Also, a nearby park named after Vasyl Slipak is located nearby, whose project won an architectural competition in 2021 year, but construction has not yet been completed.
Activists believe that the initiative to create a "cultural space" may be linked to the plot at address вул. Боричів Тік, 29, which was previously allocated for the construction of a hotel with a parking lot. Later, the prosecution returned the plot to the city, but its intended purpose for development remained unchanged. According to activists, the construction company is linked to the family of Klychkov.
The "Heritage" organization believes that the "cultural space" could be an entrance area with an exit to Andriyivsky Uzviz for a future hotel, and its owner is using administrative resources to develop this area. The Department of Cultural Heritage of the Kyiv City Council, led by Marina Solovyova, has proposed that Kyiv residents work together to develop a vision for a new space that meets the needs of the city and organically complements the historical environment of Andriyivsky Uzviz.
