Mykola Bazhan Avenue, one of the busiest streets in Kyiv, has become greener thanks to the planting of 110 young Catalpa trees.

According to "Kyivzelenbud", the seedlings were planted by employees of the communal enterprise for the maintenance of green areas in the Darnyi district. "Greening transport arteries has both aesthetic and ecological significance," experts said.

In particular, when the trees grow and form dense crowns, their wide leaves will help to trap dust, and the green strip will become a natural barrier between the road and adjacent territories. "Kyivzelenbud" also noted that Catalpa trees are well adapted to urban conditions, can withstand summer heat, and are distinguished by their large decorative leaves. Currently, these are young seedlings that will eventually become a full-fledged green strip along the avenue.
