Kyiv needs 620 primary mobile shelters, but the city is only expected to purchase 14 by the end of the year. This was announced by the press service of the Kyiv City Council.

The client is "Kyivtrans": a tender for 14 shelters with an estimated cost of 54 million UAH (including taxes) is scheduled for October 11. The structures for 50 people should be manufactured from reinforced concrete no earlier than 2026, and they are planned to be installed, for example, at transport stops.

Currently, there are only four mobile shelters in Kyiv – these were established by private organizations. The Kyiv City Council (KMA) explains that during the formation of the city budget, the district administrations, which are the main recipients of budget funds, did not request the provision of mobile shelters for Kyiv residents, and the KMA itself did not make such purchases.

For the period of 2027–2029, a total of 300 million UAH is planned for public safety, civil defense, and initial mobile shelters, or 100 million UAH per year, with 100 million UAH planned to be secured as investments. Overall, according to the city's estimates, the city needs 7894 regular shelters and 620 mobile shelters.

On September 11, at the YES forum, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko promised that 40-50 mobile shelters would appear in Kyiv within a month. For comparison: in Kherson, there are 269 mobile shelters, and in Dnipro, there are 186.
