Kyiv: Right bank operating in emergency power outage mode, metro service to the right bank suspended from «Oskordy»

In Kyiv on October 9, emergency power outages were introduced on the right bank, while the left bank continues to operate according to hourly schedules. Due to a lack of power, metro service has been suspended again: the green line in the direction of the right bank is closed from the «Oskordy» station. DTEK urged residents to conserve energy; the restoration of service depends on the decision of «Ukrenergo» dispatchers.

In Kyiv on October 9, emergency power outages were introduced on the right bank of the city. According to «DTEK Kyiv» reports, the left bank part of the capital continues to operate according to previously established schedules. Emergency power outages temporarily suspend the operation of previously established schedules.

Due to a lack of power in the network, the Kyiv metro has been suspended again: train service on the green line in the direction of the right bank is suspended from the «Oskordy» station. Passengers are forced to find alternative routes.

Energy providers have urged residents with electricity to minimize their energy consumption. They promise that electricity will be restored immediately after the instructions from the "Ukrenergo" dispatchers.

The Ministry of Energy explained that the outages can be due to emergencies – such as sudden or localized failures due to shelling, or stabilization measures (hourly) and planned outages. If an emergency overlaps with stabilization measures, there may be a longer period without electricity – until the problem is resolved in the network. The ministry calls these restrictions a necessary measure to protect the network from major failures.
