Kyiv: During prolonged alerts, the metro changes the movement of trains on the "red" line.
"Kyiv Metro" is temporarily changing the train schedule on the "red" line during prolonged air raid alerts, according to the Kyiv City State Administration. If a platform is overcrowded, a train may terminate its journey at the previous station, leading to longer intervals on the entire line. Passengers are urged to listen to announcements and follow the instructions of metro staff.
"Kyiv Metro" is temporarily changing the train schedule on the "red" line during prolonged air raid alerts. This was announced by the Kyiv City Municipal Administration on October 9. The reason is that during alerts, the stations effectively function as shelters, and the number of people on the platforms quickly increases.
If the platform becomes too crowded, the train driver may be instructed to complete the disembarkation of passengers at a previous station, where there are fewer people. An announcement is made at that station, and passengers must exit the train, as it will not proceed further. Even a delay with a single train can increase the intervals between subsequent trains on the entire line.
The Kyiv City Council urged passengers to carefully listen to announcements at stations and follow the instructions of metro employees to regulate the flow of people and prevent overcrowding. The council recommends seeking up-to-date information about changes in metro operations from official announcements by the Kyiv City Council and "Kyiv Metro."
