Bucha: City council threatens to terminate contract with contractor for reconstruction of Energetykov Street
The Bucha city council sent a letter to the general contractor, ТОВ «Автомагістраль-Захід», proposing to terminate the cooperation due to significant delays in the reconstruction of Energetykov Street compared to the schedule. The contractor explains the delays due to the cancellation of employee contracts, a shortage of personnel, and disruptions in the supply of materials due to shelling. If an agreement cannot be reached, the community is prepared to file a lawsuit, which could further delay the work on the key street.
The mayor of Bucha, Anatolii Fedoruk, October 9, announced that the city council had sent a formal letter to the main contractor for the renovation of Energetykov Street – PJSC "Avtomagistral-Zakhid" – proposing to terminate the cooperation due to significant breaches of contractual obligations. According to the mayor, the work is significantly behind schedule, and the city authorities are no longer limiting themselves to warnings.
The company attributes the delays to the cancellation of employee bookings, a shortage of personnel, and disruptions in the supply of materials due to Russian attacks on manufacturing facilities. The contractor assures that all necessary materials have been ordered and provides the city council with relevant confirmations.
Fedoruk noted that he had once again held a meeting with the contractors. If an agreement cannot be reached, the community will defend its interests in court, although it acknowledges that the legal process could significantly prolong the completion of work on one of the city's main streets.
The reconstruction of Enerhetykiv Street aims to make it the first fully accessible street in Bucha within the national "Barrier-Free" campaign. The project includes replacing outdated infrastructure, constructing a new water and drainage system, modernizing the electricity supply, as well as creating new sidewalks and recreational areas.
The work on the street has been ongoing since the end of 2025 and has previously been accompanied by scandals due to the felling of trees, which some residents have called excessive. The city council at that time assured that after the completion of the reconstruction of green areas, there would be 3,5 times more than before the start of the work.
